How the Campground Is Laid Out
The campground sits on the bluff along Carlsbad Boulevard. The park road separates the oceanfront sites, on the bluff above the beach, from the inland sites. Four sets of stairways, spaced along the north and south ends, lead down to the beach. Download the official map from the State Parks park page before you book; it shows where each numbered site sits.

Choosing a Site
- For the view: pick an ocean site. They overlook the beach from the bluff and have no shade.
- For an RV with hookups: only 13 sites have power, water and sewer, all numbered between 132 and 223.
- For beach access: stay near one of the stairways at the north or south end. The old ramp between sites 179 and 180 is no longer recommended as an accessible route; erosion has narrowed it and it may close.
- For an accessible site: the 13 accessible sites are paved and level, with accessible tables and fire rings. Paved tent pads do not take stakes.

Pelican Point
The Pelican Point group site is separate from the numbered sites and appears on ReserveCalifornia as North Loop (Group Site). See camping.
Fees by Site Type
Inland $50, ocean $70, inland hookup $75, ocean single hookup $95 and ocean double hookup $140 a night. See reservations for how to book.
